Request for file deletion: File:Lybia caestifera.png

Hello, I am the original uploader of File:Lybia caestifera.png and I would like to request its deletion.

Reason: The file may not comply with Wikimedia Commons' copyright policies, and I want to ensure proper licensing before re-uploading. Thank you for your assistance. GingerManBread (talk) 00:25, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done by Auntof6. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 05:19, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@GingerManBread: Next time you can use: {{SD|G7}} for files that you have uploaded. Phương Linh (talk) 13:51, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And if that is hard to remember, there is Template:My bad upload. - Jmabel ! talk - 16:02, 17 March 2025
Or the much shorter {{G7}}.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 17:55, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

all my files deleted ??

i mistakenly claimed historical media as own RyanRai11 (talk) 03:24, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

RyanRai11: Yes, they were deleted per Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by RyanRai11. You claimed them all as your own work, which isn't true. We need the actual source and author. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 06:45, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
i take those from various sources like pinterest and facebook RyanRai11 (talk) 08:30, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@RyanRai11: Do not do that, or you will be blocked. For all files you upload, you must provide a proper source, date, author, and license. Do not upload documents not under a free license or in the public domain. And before uploading anything else, please read COM:L. Thanks, Yann (talk) 09:31, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm unable to do so as the title is blacklisted. Content should be: {{Countries of Asia|prefix=Category:Male people wearing sweatshirts in}} [[Category:Male people wearing sweatshirts by country|South Korea]] [[Category:People wearing sweatshirts in South Korea]]

Thanks! Cryptic-waveform (talk) 16:40, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki loves parliaments email addresses

The domain of the email address in {{WIKI loves parliaments/European Parliament 2014}} appears to be inactive; the email address in {{Wiki loves parliaments/Parteitag CDU 2015}} is of a user who is globally locked. There are other templates in the same family. With what email address should they be updated, and does it need someone with translation-editor rights to do so? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:58, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Pigsonthewing: TA rights aren't needed in this case. Neither of the templates are protected, so you should be able to make the edit. signed, Aafi (talk) 00:19, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't find any beneficial email-address, but the website at wikilovesparliaments.org seems like a fishbowl-wiki; nothing accessible without registration. Once again something that's out of the purview of Commons' admins. My personal thoughts are that the mention of email would be redundant, people could always ask at Help Desks about how to use. signed, Aafi (talk) 00:25, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'd just remove them. Bedivere (talk) 00:50, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've replaced the email link on the first template above with a link to the help desk. Because of the nested sub-templates and translations, I cannot do so on the second (and have not tried any others). It needs someone more familiar with such markup to do so. (since the "purview of Commons' admins" was mentioned, I'll explain that the reason I asked here first was the sensitivities around a global locked account). Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:51, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I tried but it seems to need some more time. @Matrix: could you check with {{Wiki loves parliaments/base/layout}} and {{Wiki loves parliaments/base}} and make sure it displays the usage guidelines on {{Wiki loves parliaments/Parteitag CDU 2015}}. I don't know what I missed. signed, Aafi (talk) 14:28, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@TheAafi: I'm a bit confused on what is happening. Do you want to replace the email link with a link to the help desk? In that case the contact parameter could just be a simply yes/no switch. —Matrix(!) ping onewhen replying {user - talk? - uselesscontributions} 20:11, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Matrix, you get it right. Email parameter needs to be changed. Link to Help desk should suffice. ─ Aafī on Mobile (talk) 21:27, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok ✓ Done now I'll just need to synchronise the translations. —Matrix(!) ping onewhen replying {user - talk? - uselesscontributions} 18:45, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Stepro and Raymond: Could you please translate the bottom message at both Template:Wiki loves parliaments/base2/layout and Template:Wiki loves parliaments/base/layout? It's the same message. —Matrix(!) ping onewhen replying {user - talk? - uselesscontributions} 18:52, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The changes destroyed the intended use of several templates. I have therefore reverted the changes. Please contact the parties involved before making such changes.
Reasons:
If the other templates need a change (in the case of O. K. certainly makes sense), please change them directly, without collateral damage. Stepro (talk) 19:02, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Wikimedia Commons Admin,

We're reaching out about the CPS Energy logo(CPS_Energy.svg)currently on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. We've noticed the logo displayed is unfortunately incorrect (it's missing a trademark), and we've run into some trouble trying to get the correct version uploaded. We've actually attempted to upload the updated logo a few times, but it keeps getting rejected and then removed. We understand there are processes in place, but we're a bit stuck! As a municipally owned utility, we have some specific rules regarding our logo's usage. Our legal and procurement policies require written permission directly from CPS Energy before anyone can use it publicly. Would it be possible to remove all CPS Energy logos from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons for now? This would really help us get things sorted out on our end. We truly appreciate your help with this and understand you're likely very busy. Thanks so much for your attention to this! Best regards,

CPS Energy Corporate Communications team. Uber Wagon (talk) 21:58, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at User talk:Uber Wagon shows that Uber Wagon apparently tried to upload the CPS Logo several times (File:CPSLogo 4C.jpg, File:CPSElogo 4C.png, and File:CPSEnergyCorpLogo.jpg) over the last 3 years, but each time it was deleted for not having a free license. The logo is not an issue on Commons. Glrx (talk) 22:26, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Uber Wagon: In case it is not clear from the above: Wikimedia Commons and the English-language Wikipedia are both sister projects under the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) but are largely independent of each other. Commons accepts only content that is either in the public domain or free licensed, and we seem all to be in agreement that this is neither, so it is no surprise you were not able to get you version uploaded to Commons. You need to resolve this matter on the English-language Wikipedia. I'm sure you could get them to use a corrected version; it is less likely that they would delete it, because the fair use rationale there looks pretty legitimate. You might bring this up at w:en:File talk:CPS Energy.svg, and if you don't get response there in a matter of a few days, try en:Wikipedia:Teahouse. - Jmabel ! talk 23:37, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion request check

Hi. This deletion request is currently in a stalemate. Is an admin able to check if COM:VRT received any submission from the uploader? If not, it's been over 2 months and a final decision should be made. Thanks. DaHuzyBru (talk) 10:46, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DaHuzyBru: Taivo deleted the file and closed the request. -- Auntof6 (talk) 12:37, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
