Hongwei Shen has a PHD degree from McGill University in Canada where he studied morphological transitions of block copolymers in solution. He is currently a Director at the Global Technology of the Colgate Palmolive Company. His primary responsibility centralizes on leading surfactant-based formulation fundamentals and innovating for consumer products, such as personal cleansers, dish liquids and mouth rinses, with consumer perceivable benefits. Before joining Colgate, he served as R&D scientists and project leads at the Dow Chemical Company and P&G. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles, presented at national & international conferences/workshops and granted patents in the dozens. Additionally, he is highly active in the Surfactants & Detergents division of AOCS by serving in the leadership roles, technical program chairs & session chairs in the annual symposium. He is also an active associate editor for the Journal of Surfactants & Detergents.
